When TMZ spots a Catholic Cardinal…

This has gotta be the most demented papal-election related video out there.

The celebrity chasers at TMZ somehow recognized Washington’s Cardinal Donald Wuerl and, for some reason, the prelate wasn’t told to keep walking, so viewers are treated to 90 seconds of awkwardness and the concomitant stale jokes about the Catholic Church.

So if you had a few seconds of face time with a cardinal elector just a couple of weeks before what will be the biggest religion story of the past few years, what would you ask?
